New England Business and Technology Association Honors Dr. Kenan Sahin
TIAX President recognized for contributions in technology innovation

June 15, 2004 (Cambridge, MA) - On Tuesday, June 15, 2004, the New England Business and Technology Association (NEBTA) will induct Dr. Kenan Sahin, president of TIAX LLC, into the "Circle of Excellence." The Circle of Excellence honors leaders whose pioneering spirit, innovation, and demonstrated inventiveness over time have been an inspiration to others and have contributed significantly to their organizations, the region, and society.

The induction will take place during the NEBATA's Technology-Enabled Business/Awards Summit. Dr. Sahin and Dr. Myra Hart, Harvard Business School professor and a founding officer of Staples represent the first two distinguished business and technology leaders to be inducted into NEBATA's "Circle of Excellence" and will deliver the evening's keynote address on the intersection of technology and innovation.

"We are excited to induct Dr. Sahin into the first Circle of Excellence, as he is extremely well respected in the New England community, and whose pioneering spirit and innovation has been an inspiration to others," said New England Business and Technology Association president Tom Hopcroft.

Dr. Sahin's role as founder and President of TIAX caps an already prolific career as academic, technologist and entrepreneur. He served on the faculties of MIT, Harvard and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst before founding Kenan Systems, which became a world leader in telecommunications software. In 1999 Kenan Systems merged with Lucent Technologies and Dr. Sahin became President of Lucent's Software Products Group and Vice President of Software Technology at Bell Labs.

In early 2002, Dr. Sahin embarked on his most recent endeavor when he purchased Arthur D. Little's technology and innovation business out of bankruptcy and formed TIAX. Under his leadership, TIAX has flourished as one of the country's leading collaborative product and technology development firms, helping government and business clients in bringing innovations to the marketplace.
