TIAX Chairs Portable Power Conference & Expo
Second annual conference brings together industry experts to discuss providing power, power requirements, and power management for today's portable technologies

September 1, 2004 (Cambridge, MA) - TIAX LLC, a leading technology firm, is continuing its leadership role in bringing together key members of the portable power industry for the Annual Portable Power Conference & Expo. Brian Barnett, PhD, Managing Director of TIAX's Battery Industry group, will serve as chairman of the conference and will kick-off the event with an overview of the key issues facing the industry. Other TIAX experts, including Per Onnerud, Senior Battery Technologist, and Suresh Sriramulu, Senior Fuel Cell Technologist, will present at the conference.

"With today's myriad advances in mobile computing and wireless communications, the demand for portable power has increased dramatically--and that demand can only be met if the power requirements are understood on a system-wide basis," said Kenan Sahin, TIAX President. TIAX co-developed the conference with IDG World Expo in 2003 and serves as a member of the Portable Power Technical Advisory Group, a team of experts from companies such as Acer Value Lab, HP, Motorola, Sanyo, and Texas Instruments. The advisory group provides guidance on creating the best forum for sharing information on portable power management.

The conference will take place September 12-14, 2004 at San Francisco's Argent Hotel and will focus on multiple aspects of the portable power industry, from batteries to electronic solutions to alternative energy systems.
