Fleet Modernization and Emissions Management

TIAX assists organizations throughout California in designing programs to effectively modernize their fleet and maximize emissions reductions. Our in-depth knowledge of transportation technologies and our internal tools allow us to understand the effects of such factors as

  • Fuel choice
  • Engine design
  • Drivetrain configuration
  • Catalyst design
  • Exhaust temperature
  • Vehicle operation

Each program is geared to the unique needs of the client considering regulatory requirements, funding mechanisms, incentive programs, petroleum reduction strategies, and local policy. TIAX helps clients optimize engine design and operation to achieve the best possible combination of efficiency, emissions, power, and operating cost.

TIAX has provided comprehensive technical oversight for the Gateway Cities Clean Air Program, a five-year $30-million effort at the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles that included a wide variety of approaches to reduce emissions from in-use heavy-duty vehicles.
