TIAX has made a critical breakthrough in the development of cathode materials with the introduction of CAM-7 that is available for licensing and collaborative implementation. CAM-7 is a nickel-based cathode material for Li-ion that is suitable for HEV, PHEV and EV batteries and provides best in class performance for portable electronics applications.
The TIAX CAM-7 material provides:
- Very High Energy Density: Capacity exceeding 200 mAh/g enabling longer Li-ion battery run times compared to other materials
- Excellent Power Rate Capability: Discharge capacity at 100 C discharge rate exceeds 130 mAh/g. State-of-the-art performance ideal for power tools and HEV power requirements
- Excellent Low-Temperature Energy Density: More than 80% of capacity retained at -20°C and 1C - a critical requirement for automotive applications
- Excellent Safety: Stabilized nickelate structure (resolves safety concerns)
- Low Cost: Provides low cell level cost
- Strong IP Portfolio: TIAX has clear IP position
